One of my favorite activities I did in Paris was taking a class at Le Cordon Bleu.
If you ask anyone I know, you’ll learn that I tend to avoid cooking at all costs and lament that I’ll never be rich enough to retain a private chef.
But I thought it would be pretty cool to say that I took a class at Le Cordon Bleu, so I signed up for Les Secrets des Tartes. I learned how to make a dark chocolate and vanilla tarte, taught by Chef Emanuele Martelli.
And I had so much fun!
The workshop took place in the atelier right off the main entry to the campus. After checking in at the front desk, the staff directed us to wait in the lobby until start time.
The chef taught the class in French, with a live English translation. Assistants had prepped and measured many of the ingredients ahead of time to keep the class moving, and they were there to help clean up after us. (Seriously, can all cooking be like this!?)
After class, I stayed at the cafe with one of my classmates to try our tartes (and also some other pastry offerings…) – they were delicious!
The class costed €125 and lasted about 2 and a half hours.
